MPEDA holds seafood exporters' meet

Visakhapatnam Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry organised seafood exporters' meet commemorating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-Vanijya Utsav here on Saturday.
The meet was chaired by BVR Subrahmanyam, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industries.
Diwakar Nath Misra, Joint Secretary, Commerce, KS Srinivas, Chairman of MPEDA, Dr M Karthikeyan, Director, MPEDA, Jagdish Fofandi, national president of Seafood Exporters Association of India, (SEAI), Indra Kumar A, regional President SEAI of Andhra pradesh, Elias Sait, secretary general SEAI and other regional presidents and around 45 seafood exporters from across the country participated .
In the welcome address, the Chairman of MPEDA highlighted the export performance of marine products; trade issues faced by exporters with China, EU, Vietnam, Australia, South Korea, Kuwait, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and other countries. He said that an action plan has been made to achieve the target of USD7.8 billion fixed by MoCI for the financial year 2021-22.
The Commerce Secretary interacted with exporters and said he has taken note of all the major issues raised by the exporters.
Karthikeyan, Director, MPEDA thanked all the dignitaries.
